Buckeye Tree Co. represents the best interest of the landowner by:
- Identifying which trees to harvest now and those to retain in the stand towards the next rotation, protecting the value of your forest for future generations to come.
- Providing an accurate timber inventory by species, number of trees, and board foot volume. The key to any successful timber sale.
- Marketing your timber through the process of competitive bidding to seek the best possible price for your timber.
- Providing a timber sales contract that protects you and your property.
Unlike most commodities, standing timber has no exact or set price. It’s value is whatever the buyer and seller agree upon. It is not uncommon for offers to range two to ten fold in value. If you do not know what your timber is worth, the services of a professional forester can pay for themselves many times over by determining the value of your timber before entering into an agreement with a prospective buyer.
There is no cost in advance to take advantage of these services. Buckeye works on a commission of sale and gets paid when you do. A consulting forester is not a “third party” that the landowner has to pay. By selling your timber directly to the mill, the landowner receives 90% of the value of the timber and 10% to Buckeye Tree Co. for preparing the sale, and no cutting ever takes place before your timber has been paid for in full. Compare this to an unsupervised 50 / 50, pay as you go agreement common in the logging industry and it’s easy to see the benefits of a professional forester representing your interest.
Contact Buckeye Tree Co. to arrange a no cost initial consultation on your property. Private or commercial it pays to consult.
